The Le Corbusier Chaise Lounge or Longue (LC4) was designed in 1928 for the furnishing of a villa in the Ville d' Avray and utilizes exposed structural elements with a padded leather cushion and headrest. The LC4 Chaise Lounge has an infinite number of seating positions as the top frame is not attached to the base. Therefore a comfortable seating position for reading may be attained, or lower the chaise for a nap the way Le Corbusier enjoyed. Le Corbusier is considered to be one of the most influential architects of the 20th century. He was a pioneer in the use of steel and concrete creating stark and rectilinear structures throughout the world.
